Hawker Sea Fury T.Mk.20 WE820
Restoration Project
Historic Photos
This page is for photos of our Sea Fury back through her history.  Special thanks to Mr. Thomas Genth for preserving and sharing his photos of  "D-COTE"  in her role as a Target Tug in West Germany.

Sea Fury WE820 at Hawkers in Sept of 1958.  The modifications to convert it to a Target Tug are complete and it is ready for delivery to the FRG.  Note it still carries the Fleet Air Arm trainer paint scheme and it's British serial, WE820.

Another photo from Sept 1958 at Hawkers

Now registered D-FOTE and painted in the red colors it would spend the next 28 years in.  Note the Spitfires in the background.  Photo taken some time between 1958 and 1963.

Still registered as D-FOTE, I can only guess that this photo was taken on arrival in Sept 1958.

Now registered D-COTE, she is undergoing a periodic inspection some time after 1963

Same day taken from a different perspective

A wonderful photo of D-FOTE taxiing out for a mission in the snow.  A feat that few modern day operators of the Sea Fury would even consider!
